Meet Our Expert Team
I’m Cobus van Wyk, a South African optometrist with over 30 years of experience helping people see their world with quality, clarity and confidence. I earned my optometry degree from Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) in 1994 and have been committed to precise, patient-focused eye care ever since. My own journey began early — I started wearing spectacles at age three. This taught me how deeply sight affects comfort, confidence and everyday life. Having these insights guides the care I provide today.
In 2008, I founded Cobus van Wyk Optometrist, practices built on trust, quality, detail and genuine care.
Outside the consulting room, I enjoy almost any sport involving a ball, and my greatest joy is my family.

I'm a farm girl from Jacobsdal in the Free State. My passion for caring for people led me to study Optometry at Rand Afrikaans University in Johannesburg.
In 2004, I qualified as an optometrist and obtained diagnostic privileges to perform cycloplegic refractions for children and young adults. After practicing for a year at a private practice in Parys, I joined a large national group for 13 years, gaining significant experience in optometry. In 2018, I seized the opportunity to join Cobus van Wyk Optometrics near home, where the welcoming atmosphere truly resonates with me.
Optometry allows me to help others, and the most fulfilling part of my career is seeing someone's face light up when they put on their new spectacles for the first time and experience the beauty of the world around them.
